Owls: Promotion to be celebrated
OWLS TO RECEIVE CIVIC RECEPTION Sheffield Wednesday have been rewarded by Sheffield City Council with a civic reception for winning automatic promotion. The Owls will celebrate their promotion to the Championship after their weekend win over Wycombe at the Town Hall on Wednesday evening.
Club chairman Milan Mandaric, manager Dave Jones and the players will salute Owls fans from the city centre's Town Hall balcony.
Wednesday won 2-0 on Saturday to finish the season three points ahead of city rivals Sheffield United and secure a place in the second tier for the first time since the 2009/10 season.
