Martin Ling quickly put the disappointment of Torquay's 3-2 defeat at relegated Hereford behind him to focus on the play-offs.
Delroy Facey, Harry Pell's 36th-minute penalty after Lee Mansell's foul on Robert Purdie and then a third before the break from Purdie put Hereford 3-0 up before the Gulls fought back with two strikes from Ryan Jarvis and Taiwo Atieno.
Ling said: "Hereford took their chances in the first half and it was definitely a penalty. I don't blame him [Lee Mansell] because he's the type of character I want around me to get us through the play-offs.
"We've got eight days before we play Cheltenham next Sunday and will be well prepared for that.
"We're going to celebrate our season, the players deserve a couple of drinks and then we will come in on Tuesday and start preparing for the task ahead.
"They're two big games, but we will be ready for them."
