Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth reflected on a "marvellous" season following a 2-2 draw at Crewe on the final day.
Luke Murphy struck late on to rescue a point for Alex after Harry Davis' own goal and Mark Molesley's effort had turned the game oin Aldershot's favour following AJ Leitch-Smith's opener. But Holdsworth was still smiling at the final whistle.
"This season has been absolutely marvellous for us, with the cup run and the occasions we have had it has been fantastic for us," he said.
"I'll be working hard now to try to secure the right players for next season, which is part of the job.
"I think from what we have shown, the finances of the club are improving and the cup run has certainly helped.
"We have now got to try and achieve that again but the club know if we're going to do that we will need more investment."
