Sheffield Wednesday brushed aside Huddersfield 2-0 at the Galpharm Stadium and manager Dave Jones was thrilled with the display.
The Owls were ruthlessly efficient on Saturday as second-half goals from Miguel Llera and Nile Ranger ensured they moved six points clear of Town in League One.
Wednesday have now won six of their last seven games under unbeaten boss Jones, who said: "We went for the jugular and never let go.
"We attacked with vigour, pace and determination and in the second half we put them to the sword. Make no mistake we earned this victory."
Jones said his side dominated all bar a "sloppy" 15-minute spell and added: "We were all over them in the second half."
He added: "We had 4,000 fans behind the goal and that's a great sight. We just didn't give them a result, we gave them a performance too."
