Andy Hessenthaler blasted the state of Bristol Rovers' pitch after Gillingham's play-off hopes took a knock in Friday's 2-2 draw.
The visitors rescued a point in League Two thanks to Dennis Oli's 90th-minute header at the Memorial Stadium, but Hessenthaler felt the uneven surface cost his side victory.
He said: "It's probably the worst pitch I've ever seen at a Football League club and it needs to be looked into.
"Players will get a bad injury on it, knee and ankle injuries because there are players just falling down holes and it's not right.
"I thought we deserved to win the game and in the first half we were outstanding, we took the pitch out of the equation with the way we passed the ball. It's the best we've played on our travels for a long time and if it hadn't been for the pitch we'd have been ahead at half-time."
Danny Kedwell missed a penalty for the Gills but they went ahead through Chris Whelpdale, only to trail with nine minutes left thanks to goals from Eliot Richards and Mustapha Carayol.
