SHREWS APPEAL MCALLISTER RED
Shrewsbury have launched an appeal against Dave McAllister's red card in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Aldershot.
The midfielder was dismissed in the 55th minute having been harshly adjudged to have thrown his arm into the face of Adam Mekki when jostling for the ball.
McAllister, on loan from Sheffield United, only has three matches remaining before the completion of his three-month stay with promotion-chasing Shrews and a ban would effectively end his time at the Greenhous Meadow.
A statement on the club's official website read: "After reviewing the incident from all possible angles Town have lodged the appeal and are currently waiting for the FA to review the incident."
Speaking immediately after the game, manager Graham Turner said: "His hand has probably brushed the lad's face, it was nothing more than that. It wasn't an elbow and there was no real damage. I think the lad squealed a little bit and we paid a heavy price for that.
"I feel a little bit for Dave. He's distraught about the situation, when you slow it down it is a very, very harsh decision."
