Russell Slade believes Leyton Orient could be just one win away from securing League One survival after their 1-0 victory at Oldham.
The O's stand six points above the drop zone thanks to David Mooney's second-half strike at Boundary Park.
The visitors had defender Ryan Dickson sent off in the 87th minute for a second yellow card but lacklustre Oldham were unable to launch a fightback.
Slade said: "We only came under pressure in the last 10 minutes, so credit to the players for sticking to their guns and performing as well as they did.
"We have tightened up again and battened down the hatches and maybe we are one win from being in this league next season.
"People at our club can get down too quickly, but we've won two and lost two of our last four games so it isn't disastrous by any means. If we finish 13th, which is possible, it will be the club's second highest position in the last 18 years."
