Sheffield Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson will be occupying the sidelines for eight weeks with a knee ligament injury.
Johnson departed the field during Saturday's 1-0 League One defeat at Chesterfield with the injury, which comes as a huge blow to Gary Megson's side, who have lost their last three league matches.
Megson said: "He's expected to be out for eight weeks. JJ has been playing arguably the best football of his career, scoring goals, making them and looked a huge threat. We just have to tough it out."
Megson moved to replace the injured Johnson with the signing of Michail Antonio on an emergency loan from npower Championship side Reading on Tuesday.
"Michail has pace, strength, an eye for goal and he works hard," Megson added.
"Our fans will have seen him when we played Colchester, I was surprised when he was taken off in that game."
