Caen host Sochaux in a crunch Ligue 1 relegation encounter where victory for the hosts could secure their top-flight status for another season.
The Normandy club have won just one of their last five league outings but nevertheless remain well placed to beat the drop, with a three-point gap to the drop zone in the congested standings.
Caen suffered a 3-0 loss at title-chasing Lille last time out, and defender Nicolas Seube has warned that the team must return to winning ways on Sunday.
"This is a final," Seube said on club website smcaen.fr. "It is customary to say you do not play a final, you win it. So no matter what, winning is the only thing that matters.
"The priority is to give the maximum, to make an effort together and have nothing to regret in the end."
Sochaux head into the game two points behind Caen and just one above the drop zone after snapping a three-match losing streak with a priceless 1-0 win at Nancy on Monday.
Sebastien Roudet's late strike lifted Sochaux from the bottom of the pile and into the last position of safety, and midfielder Ryad Boudebouz says it is crucial for the team to continue in a similar vein if they are to avoid a damaging drop into the second tier.
"If Sochaux go down it will be a blow for the entire region, which lives for the club," Boudebouz told fifa.com.
"We want to fight for all the fans who come to watch us and who have supported us for so long."
