Brest's interim coach Corentin Martins is in a surprisingly relaxed mood, despite his side occupying the final relegation spot in Ligue 1.
With two games remaining this season, Brest are just one point adrift of safety but are winless in their last five matches.
They did pick up a point in an impressive 1-1 draw at Lyon last Sunday and they will be looking to go one better and claim all three against Valenciennes at the Stade Francis-Le Ble on Sunday.
Martins is trying to keep his players focused on the task ahead and will be telling them to ignore fellow strugglers' results.
"The players are concerned, but remain calm," Martins told brest.maville.com. "I do not feel more excitement than usual. And pressure has been there since day one.
"We're not going to pay attention to anybody else's results - we will not seek to know what is happening elsewhere.
"The most important thing for me is to show a good attitude in matches and training. We must be positive, move forward, keep a balance of course and play without restraint."
Defender Jonathan Zebina should return from a calf injury although Oscar Ewolo has a similar problem and is a major doubt, as are Larsen Toure (groin) and Mario Licka (foot).
Jonathan Ayite is almost certain to miss out with a thigh injury but could return for the final league game of the season against Evian.
Valenciennes are five points clear of the drop zone and although they are not mathematically safe, they are highly unlikely to be dragged into the quagmire.
Yet they conceded a 2-0 lead as they slipped to a 4-3 defeat against title-chasing Paris St Germain last week and manager Daniel Sanchez knows they need to be more clinical in future.
"We had the chance to win after leading 2-0 and after - by trying to be too cautious or whatever - we watched them play," he told francefootball.fr.
"We started to retreat and from the moment you give them time and space, it gets complicated deal with such players.
"We must be more rigorous, more decisive when we are attacking, more realistic and effective."
