Ajaccio captain Jean-Baptiste Pierazzi believes his side must beat one of the 'biggest clubs in France' to aid their Ligue 1 survival bid as they prepare to face Lyon on Sunday.
Pierazzi, 26, will lead out Ajaccio in their penultimate league fixture with the 16th-placed side sitting only two points clear of the relegation zone.
A vital win over fellow strugglers Sochaux two weeks ago looked to have put Ajaccio on course for survival but a defeat at Evian last weekend means they are still fighting and Pierazzi believes they must win at home to Lyon.
"There are now only two games and we have to win against Lyon," he told the club's official website.
"The season is over very quickly. We will play for our survival at home against one of the biggest French clubs. It has been a gruelling season. We felt many different emotions - joy, disappointment, hope and above all there has been plenty of suspense."
Lyon boss Remi Garde has led his side to a disappointing fourth-placed finish this season and believes it will be hard to get his players up for the remaining fixtures.
"The motivation will certainly be less easy to find," he said.
"The motivation is to finish as well as possible. It's a fact. The three teams ahead of us well."
Lyon have won three of their last four games but cannot challenge the top three and must now settle for a Europa League spot for next season.
Garde has suggested he will rotate his squad for the fixture at Stade Francois Coty following a tough couple of weeks.
He said: "I remind you that this will be the fifth game in 15 days. Bodies are tired. It is possible that under these conditions, some players may bring some freshness but I still (want) to win."
