Marseille full-back Cesar Azpilicueta is desperate to end the team's winless run in Ligue 1 against Nancy on Wednesday.
Didier Deschamps' men have not tasted victory in the league in their last 13 matches - a run stretching back to January 29 - and have lost four of their last five.
They did manage to beat Lyon to lift the Coupe de la Ligue last month but they have slid down the table during their alarming run and Spaniard Azpilicueta says he and his team-mates are champing at the bit to arrest the slump.
"In some games, the mood was not good but in our latest games, you cannot blame our attitude," he said.
"However, we concede goals in every game and are making mistakes that are killing us. We have four matches left and we must find a cure because this winless run has been very long.
"Nobody likes to be in this situation. We have to win.
"We experienced the joy of winning the final of the League Cup and we need to find the scent of victory in the league, there can be no greater motivation than that.
"In training, everyone is 100% and although sometimes you deserve to lose, we have also been unlucky and it gets harder after that."
Nancy are a point and a place above Marseille and Les Chardons manager Jean Fernandez is confident his side have done enough to retain their Ligue 1 place for next season.
"I think with 42 points and four matches of the championship (left), we are in a favourable situation," he said.
"In addition, there are games to play between direct competitors, and some clubs, such as Ajaccio and Dijon for example, have a negative goal difference."
Fernandez, who has played for and been manager of Marseille, will not be telling his players to take their foot off the gas, however.
"I always play to win," he added.
"This has always been my motto. If you're having a bad day and Marseille are having a good day, it will be difficult.
"I remember, back when I was coach of Marseille, Nancy lost a game to us 6-0. I am happy to come back to Marseille because I had some very good times there. I have friends there and I'm glad to meet up with them."
