Terry Connor insists he has "no regrets" about becoming Wolves manager despite failing to save them from relegation.

Connor's future will be decided at the end of the campaign in a comprehensive review undertaken by Wolves chairman Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey.

But whatever the outcome, Connor will take both positives and negatives from his time in charge of the Barclays Premier League outfit.

"I have no regrets," he said. "I've tried to do things properly and as honestly as I can. I have no regrets on that score.

"You want to win games and it hasn't happened for me. It doesn't mean I have to have regrets about decisions I made.

"I made them honestly and for the good of Wolves, and as long as I stick to that, that's all I can do.

"I've learned loads, loads about everything, and probably more about myself and how I handle certain situations."

Regarding his future, Connor said: "You will have to ask Jez and Steve there. They will decide where the club wants to go.

"If it involves me, great, if not, I'll use the experiences at Wolves to find employment elsewhere."

One option would be for Connor to be reunited with former Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, whom he worked under as assistant manager before being named as his replacement until the end of the season.

McCarthy has indicated he would happily work with his former number two again, but Connor is also adamant he can stand on his own two feet.

Connor said: "We worked well over a number of years and got to know each other very well.

"I can understand Mick saying that and I'd have no problems if he asked me to work with him again. I would have no problems doing that.

"But I would also say I'm nearly 50 now and I got by for 45 years on my own two feet. I can look after myself.

"It is be nice Mick has given me that recommendation but I can stand on my own two feet if necessary."

Meanwhile, Wolves' on-loan Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong has been ruled out of Saturday's trip to Swansea with a hamstring injury.

Christophe Berra is set to deputise as Wolves look for their first win in 12 games.
