Marseille's winless run in Ligue 1 was extended to 12 games tonight as Bordeaux emerged victorious at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
Jussie opened the scoring inside the opening minute and the Brazilian doubled his tally shortly before the half-hour mark.
Jordan Ayew pulled one back 10 minutes into the second half but Marseille could not find an equaliser with Bordeaux also missing a second-half penalty.
Les Girondins made a swift start by taking the lead from their first attack. Ludovic Obraniak freed Yoan Gouffran and he flicked it on for Jussie to slot in.
Marseille rarely threatened an equaliser in the early stages and Bordeaux made it 2-0 when Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda could only parry Jaroslav Plasil's shot and Jussie turned in the rebound.
Didier Deschamps' side dominated the remainder of the half but could not score.
Home goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso denied Andre-Pierre Gignac, Jordan Ayew fired inches over before, on the stroke of half-time, Carrasso produced a stunning save to keep out a point-blank volley from France striker Gignac.
Carrasso also kept out an Andre Ayew piledriver seven minutes after the break but he could do little to prevent Jordan Ayew halving the deficit shortly after with a composed finish.
Andre Ayew then came within inches of an equaliser with a shot which skimmed the post.
Bordeaux finally offered a threat going forward and claimed a penalty when Mandanda felled Jussie inside the area. He made amends for his error, however, with a low save to keep out Benoit Tremoulinas' spot-kick.
Marseille had two chances to equalise but Carrasso denied Gignac while, in injury-time, the Bordeaux keeper did well to claw away a Mathieu Valbuena free-kick from under his bar.
