Rotherham manager Steve Evans will name Andy Warrington in goal for the visit of Morecambe in npower League Two.
Warrington has been a virtual spectator this season, making just seven appearances, after being frozen out by former manager Andy Scott.
But Evans will give the 35-year-old a chance to stake his claim for a new contract, meaning on-loan goalkeeper Rhys Taylor will drop to the bench.
Influential defender Johnny Mullins and Lewis Grabban missed two days of training earlier this week with a virus and they will be assessed ahead of kick-off.
Elsewhere Michael Raynes (hamstring), Richard Naylor and Luke Foster (both knee) will miss out and are unlikely to play again this season.
Evans could use this game to look at other fringe players as he analyses his squad in detail ahead of an inevitable summer shake-up.
Morecambe will be without former Rotherham duo Kevin Ellison and Nick Fenton for the trip to the Don Valley Stadium.
Ellison tops the Shrimps' scoring charts with 17 goals, but a persistent back problem that has dogged him throughout the campaign is expected to end the 33-year-old's season prematurely.
The veteran winger missed the majority of pre-season last summer and boss Jim Bentley wants to avoid a repeat so will not be taking any undue risks.
Defender Fenton is also expected to miss the final three games despite returning ahead of schedule from a calf problem a month ago.
Stewart Drummond is recovering from an appendectomy and remains on the sidelines along with long-term absentees Laurence Wilson and Andy Fleming.
Lewis Alessandra is pushing for a start in attack having returned from a groin injury to feature as a substitute in last Saturday's goalless draw with Port Vale.
