Frank Lampard believes Roberto Di Matteo's man-management skills have helped restore confidence at Chelsea and says the supporters can relate to the Italian's love for the club.
The Blues have improved considerably since Di Matteo was named interim manager at the start of March following the dismissal of Andre Villas-Boas.
He has secured nine victories in his 12 games at the helm to maintain a challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Chelsea have also made it through to the FA Cup final and the last four of the UEFA Champions League, where they will face Barcelona in a two-legged tie which starts at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
Lampard has noticed a big difference in the way Chelsea are playing and feels Di Matteo deserves recognition for what he has achieved.
The England midfielder was perceived to be unhappy under Villas-Boas but is enjoying life now that Chelsea are thriving and feels Di Matteo's passion for the club is a major factor behind their revival.
"Roberto has to take a lot of the credit," Lampard said in the Daily Express. "He has done brilliantly and the results speak for themselves.
"You can see the desire and love he has for the club, and the supporters relate to that.
"He has done the simple things right, and he has got individual players performing well and with real confidence.
"The basic skill of management involves man-management, and he has carried that out brilliantly, and you can see the whole side playing with a real confidence.
"When that happens, you have the chance of being a very strong team."
