Watford have recalled Gavin Massey from League One Colchester.

The teenage striker has played eight matches for the Essex club and the Hornets have brought him back to Vicarage Road ahead of schedule.

Colchester manager John Ward told the Daily Gazette: "I got a phone call from Sean Dyche (Watford manager) asking if they could recall him and we've let him go back a game early.

"I hope he gets an opportunity there because that's what he wants to do."
