Atalanta have suffered a blow with the news that striker Guido Marilungo will be out for the rest of the season.
Marilungo missed Sunday's goalless draw at Inter Milan with a knee problem.
Tests done on the Italian striker since have revealed a torn cross-ligament in his right knee.
The 22-year-old will undergo surgery in the next few days and will be sidelined for five months.
Marilungo has scored four goals in 18 league appearances for Atalanta this season.
This is the second serious injury setback suffered by an Atalanta player this month after defender Daniele Capelli was recently sidelined for four months with a fractured kneecap.
The Bergamaschi are 12th in the standings and host Bologna on Sunday.
