Portsmouth's survival bid is poised to suffer another blow with top scorer Erik Huseklepp set to join Birmingham.
Pompey's administrator Trevor Birch needs to slash the wage bill at Fratton Park and Norwegian winger Huseklepp has been sacrificed despite manager Michael Appleton already working with a threadbare squad.
"I can confirm that Erik is on his way to Birmingham now," Huseklepp's agent Tore Pedersen told TV2 Sport. "This is a new step in the career of Erik.
"Birmingham is a top club who want to strengthen the team to win promotion to the Premier League again."
Huseklepp, 27, joined Pompey in the summer from Bari and has scored six goals in 27 Championship appearances this season.
